Pictures in Focus: Six Images of Christ in his Passion

To mark the beginning of Holy Week, I've added six new images of Christ in his Passion from the Sacred Art Pilgrim Collection to the Sacred Artists and Schools of Sacred Art sections. Looking in the galleries of their artist profile pages, you can now view a small black-and-white, glazed enamel on copper plate study of Christ before Pilate by French Miniaturist Hermine David; a second mixed-media on cardboard portrait of Christ, the Man on Sorrows, by Visionary Artist Rudolph Valentino Bostic; a monotype of Christ on the Cross by New Mexico Saintmaker Michael Vargas; a charcoal sketch of the Crucified Christ by British Artist Peter Howson; and a print of the Crucifixion by French Artist Paul Aizpiri, similar in style to his lithographic illustrations for La Passion de Nostre Seigneur already in the collection. In the Brazilian cordel woodcuts page in the Schools of Sacred Art section, there is a new Crucifixion scene by Amaro Francisco Borges, titled Forgiveness, close in theme and composition to his print, Forgiveness for All, in the gallery listings.
