Prints and paintings by French Artist Hermine David make up one of the largest single groupings of artworks in the Sacred Art Pilgrim Collection. You can now view five images of newly purchased drypoint prints by this prolific sacred artist on the David profile page in the Sacred Artists section. Three of these new images depict events from the Passion of Christ. We see Judas, betraying Christ with a kiss in the Garden of Gethsemane; Peter, denying Christ three times; and an image of the Crucified Jesus, his sacred head, now wounded. Two other drypoint prints show the three women, approaching the Garden Tomb on Easter morning to annoint the body of Christ, and their encounter with the angel by the empty grave. (John Kohan)
