Mississippi Visionary Artist Carl Dixon has been a longtime friend of the Sacred Art Pilgrim Collection. In the more than ten years I have known Carl, he has created close to thirty commissioned works for me in a whimsical folk art style on topics as intriguingly diverse as spiritual warfare in the heavens and the earthbound journeys of liberation of Moses and Harriet Tubman. Carl was recently diagnosed with cancer. Houston Gallery Owner Franny Koelsch was one of the first to recognize the self-taught artist's unique talents as a wood carver when he lived in Texas in the 1990s. She has organized a virtual fundraising show on the Koelsch Gallery Facebook page to offer Carl a helping hand in his time of need.
