My early summer series on images of the Good Shepherd from the Sacred Art Pilgrim Collection ends this week with another visionary icon from Ukrainian Greek Catholic Artist Natalya Rusetka where earthly green pastures have been transfigured into the fields of paradise. In this edenic landscape, sheep. cattle, and wild beasts may safely graze and find sustinence with all living things in streams of water that never run dry. The Holy Spirit appears as a stylized dove hovering above this life-giving fountain like the Spirit of God moving "upon the face of the waters" on the first day of Creation. The Sacred Art Pilgrim will be taking some time off next month, returning on-line in August. In the meantime, remember to Pray for the Peace of Ukraine! (John Kohan)
