The great narratives of the Hebrew Scriptures are a favorite subject for the story-telling stitchers of Panama's Kuna people. This week, I'm uploading five new images of mola blouse panels on Old Testament themes to the gallery of the Molas of the Kuna People page in the Schools of Sacred Art section. There are hand-sewn scenes of Adam and Eve in the tropical paradise of Eden (Genesis 2,3); the rescue of Baby Moses from the Nile by Pharaoh's daughter (Exodus 2:1-10); Moses parting the waves of the Red Sea (Exodus 14); David killing the Giant Goliath (I Samuel 17:1-51); and Wise King Solomon and the two quarreling mothers (I Kings 3: 16-28).
